a sadness ache

a sadness ache
in the quietest moments
when I would have reached for you
from my silent wall

I can make the lark in you sing
I can put love that it is beside you

self sufficient
it only asks to exist
like any feeling would want

she feels it

she feels it
I put it in the invisible realm
it looks for her

she has no other way to feel it
my lovely vampire

I sense it she says like a distant planet

where I had lived
in the sunlight

she is so quiet and still in the dark
I approach her with my own sadness

I want to find it
David

what you have put
in the invisible

my lovely vampire

words clever

words clever
fallen into grace

how splendid
to give affection

along the corridors
the wind has gone

through the leaves
the windows the doors

finding you
become the tender breeze

do you hear the rain

do you hear the rain
in my poem
It wants you to be a leaf

as if

as if
someone
will find
love
I put
there
they are
of rain
as well

open a window

open a
window

see how
the day

is there
no litter

in the
invisible

put a
feeling there

they will
find

who look
to find

who are
of rain

I am taking the moon from you

I am taking the moon from you
you give it so gentle
I could say I will trade the sun
but it isn’t like that with us isn’t it
hon

put a feeling

put a feeling
you don’t have to
take it
if you don’t
want to

I am singing out
my window

there come a white cloud

it is lovely

then there come
quietness

in myself
making walls

I feel rainfall

I feel rainfall
like a feeling

when I gathered the colours

when I gathered the colours
of a rainbow

it too
became invisible

you can weave curtains

you can weave curtains
for my windows
from a feeling
hon

when it rains

when it rains
I think of you

cause I like rain
hon

I lay down beside her

I lay down beside her
and I curl up
in the shape
she is in
she says
‘don’t you get hard
David’

‘yr poem’s falling

‘yr poem’s falling out
yr back pocket
hon’

I said
tucking it
back in

running my hand

running my hand
through the air
the invisible her

‘Harvey Weinstein
David!’
she shouts
at me

and I draw
my hand
away

and we
smile
at each
other

in the
invisible

if you might feel

if you might feel
I deserve a feeling
leave it in the invisible
I will find it
